Questions
Before booking
-
Absolutely. FINE is designed to make tattooing approachable for everyone, including first-timers. You don’t need to know the terminology or have everything figured out before you book.
-
Consultations are ideal if you’re deciding between designs, unsure about placement, or want to talk through an idea before committing to a tattoo appointment.
-
Browse our artists, choose your appointment or consultation, pay your deposit, and receive everything you need via email ahead of your visit.
-
House Collection tattoos have fixed pricing based on size. Custom tattoos follow transparent size-based pricing, which you’ll find on our Custom Tattoos page.
-
Skin naturally changes over time, and significant weight changes can affect the appearance of a tattoo. For most small, fine-line tattoos, the difference is minimal. If you’re concerned, we’re happy to advise on placement during your consultation.
Your appointment
-
Get a good night’s sleep, eat something before your appointment, and stay hydrated. Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs for 24 hours beforehand, and wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. You’re welcome to bring water and a snack, or there are plenty of snacks to purchase in the studio.
-
Everyone experiences tattooing differently, but most people describe fine-line tattooing as more uncomfortable than painful. We’ll check in regularly and take breaks whenever needed.
-
Wear something comfortable that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. Looser clothing is often best.
-
We ask clients to attend appointments alone where possible. If you’d like someone to accompany you, please get in touch beforehand and we’ll do our best to accommodate. They can, of course, hang out in the coffee bar and meet you at the end of your appointment.
-
Please let us know as soon as possible. Depending on the appointment, we may need to shorten or reschedule your session.
-
Small changes can usually be discussed before your appointment or during your consultation. Once your stencil has been approved and tattooing has begun, we won’t be able to make further changes, so please take your time checking the design, spelling and placement beforehand.
Health & safety
-
We follow strict hygiene protocols at all times, including single-use sterile needles and cartridges, sanitised workstations, medical-grade disinfectants, and industry-standard infection control procedures. If you have a medical condition or concerns about healing, please let us know before booking.
-
We don’t generally recommend numbing cream, as it can affect how the skin takes ink. If you’re concerned about pain, speak to your artist before your appointment.
-
Please let us know before booking if you have a medical condition, skin condition, or take medication that may affect healing.
-
No. We do not tattoo clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
